Inception... deep inside your mind
*SPOILER WARNING*
Anyone and everyone I've run into has been talking about Inception lately. In order to avoid having the movie being spoiled for me, I had to see it for myself, ASAP.
....and then...
Wow. The movie -definitely- did not disappoint. The story is SO complicated, yet it's so innovative that it really blows your mind away. A dream within a dream within a dream within a dream. Every depth of the dream, every calculated action and every planned fall just leaves you in awe of the bigger picture.
The key players are the Extractor(Cobb), the Point Man(Arthur), the Architect (Ariadne), the Chemist(Yusuf), the Forger(Eames) and the Tourist(Saito). Every single character played their part perfectly. Cobb's messed up past complicated the situation quickly, yet helped draw the audience into their dreams deeper and deeper. Towards the end, I felt like I wanted to know more about each of the characters than I ever cared for, and that's such a rare gift for any movie.
Of course, the story is not without flaws. Why on earth would someone as powerful as Saito risk his own safety to join the inception team? I know it's to make sure the job gets done, but he could very well pay someone else to do it! And why would Fisher trust Cobb so easily if he has been trained to combat extraction?? I had a lot of questions. Oh well, my head is already about to explode with all the complicated details of the movie, so I'm not planning to drill on the faults.
After the movie is over, the first thing my friend said was,"How in the world did Christopher Nolan come up with this idea?!" And what an idea it was, it left my mind exhausted for the rest of the night. Yet, I still cannot wait to see this movie again. Soon.

That was the first question bf asked. But I think, same as why Ariadne wanted to join, once you experience the dream world, you just want to go back. (But... of course...)
Nolan actually had this idea 10 years ago and felt that he needs to have more directing experience before shooting this one.
So do you think totem will stop at the end? I DON'T THINK SO!
> I wanted to know more about each of the characters than I ever cared for, and that's such a rare gift for any movie.
Actually, the film is about Cobb only. The other characters were not well developed, and I think it's intentional. Even the names are hard to remember. (Because I think it's Cobb's dream so that other characters were kind of vague. Haha!)
yun: Another question I just thought of. Why doesn't fisher renmember his dreams after he wakes up, but all the other inception team members can?! They all went into the dream the same way!
Yes, they spent too little time on the other characters, yet I find them so interesting still... That's why I wanna know more about them so much!! :)
The totem as wobbling in the end! I think it was going to stop!!! Hahahahaha~~~
Fisher might remember part of the dream, but it's a dream to him. That's why they need to go into 3 level to "plant the seed" so that he will make it his own idea not someone told him the dream.
The other team members remember because when they went into the dream, they know they are in the dream. This is also a hint that, why does Cobb need s totem to constantly be reminded he is in a dream or not? when others don't? (even ellen page has a totem, but she never used it.) i think cuz he constantly doesn't know whether or not he is in a dream or not.
Also, the way his wife acts, is his project of her, NOT necessarily herself! Not to be confuse with that.
And, why would the totem stop in reality but not in a dream? I didn't get that part?
The totem did wobbled a bit but then it kept up the speed again. (Go see again! Hah!) The other thing is, why were his children in the exact position as he remembers them???!!!! And (I believe they were) wearing the same clothes? Also he must had been gone for a while, why hasn't his children grown? And why were they in the same house? (I assume after he left, his mother-in-law took the children in... though possible they live in the same house, but everything look the same?!) One other thing, why is his father-in-law suddenly appears in LA when he teaches in Paris???!!! (And when they got the notice to fly to LA just moments before?!)
And..... isn't it interesting that they were flying from Sydney to LA???!!!!!! And Fisher was flying w/ his dad's coffin???!! LOST?????????!!!!!!!! Wahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!
Ohh, of course, I don't get it why senior Fisher had to be buried in LA, when it seems like his empire is in Sydney?!! Hmm...
