I loved Coraline. Not only because it's a world full of vivid colors and possibilities, mesmerizing animation, terrific music score, and has a likeable heroine, but also because from beginning to end of the movie, it gave me a sense of danger luring in the background, and that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
The story is simple. Little girl Coraline and her parents just moved into a big old house. She hates the new place, hates that her parents never paid any attention to her, and eventually discovered a secret gateway to a fantasy world that mirrored her real life, but somehow everything in this world is so much more fascinating and interesting. But of course, it was too good to be true, nothing is the way it seems.
I'm glad I saw this movie in 3D, because it really made a difference. I felt as if Coraline's world was literally unfolding in front of my eyes, everything is so...3D! The unique look and feel of this movie is so wonderful to look at, and the story just flew by without a hitch. The movie and music are a bit too creepy for children though, even I might be having nightmares tonight after watching this! :P
