So, I was stuck on the freeway for an extra hour today. Traffic. I waited and waited in my car, with anybody barely moving for more than 10 miles. When I finally passed by the cause of this traffic jam, I was just speechless. No, there wasn't a huge accident that blocked part of the freeway. No, there wasn't an accident on the opposite side of the freeway either. It was a fire that was burning OFF the freeway. People were just f-kin stopping their cars randomly, admiring and watching the fire as they drove by. That's why it took me more than an hour to drive through a stretch that usually takes me less than 10 minutes.
After I finally passed the fire, my side of the freeway was free and clear. But check out the opposite side that's going towards the fire. HA! SUCKERS!!!
I'm just SO sick and tired of stupid LA drivers. They just don't f-kin know how to drive. Every little thing that happens on the freeway, they slow down. Even when it's not on their side of the road! I just HATE spectator-caused traffic jams! People, just DRIVE!!!!!
Also, it's amazing at how people can multi-task while they drive. I don't mean that they're cool; in fact I think they're @-holes. First off, drivers who are talking on the cell phones? Either get a hands-free or get off the f-kin phone! Because their hands are both tied up (one holding the phone and one holding the wheel), they like to just swoop in and out of lanes suddenly without any warning. F-YOU cell phone talking drivers! And one time, I saw a woman trying to shove a freakin big-mac into her face while going 80+mph on the freeway. HELLO?! I can understand sipping water, or even eating some fries, but eating a freakin messy big mac?! come on! This morning, I swear that I saw some guy who was completely dozed off while driving on the freeway. His eyes were closed, his head was "fishing" up and down constantly, and his car was swerving from side to side. I stepped on the gas and got the hell outta that death trap right away. Everyday I feel like there are just tons and tons of accidents waiting for me to step into...
And DO NOT get me started on how on rainy days, LA drivers will get amnesia suddenly and completely forget how to drive. "OH MY GOD there's water on the floor, I don't know how to drive!" .......... like I said I shouldn't say more about this matter or I'm just going to go on and on and on........*grrrrrr!*
*sigh* Don't get me wrong, I love driving. I just hate to drive in LA!

Just found out that they are remaking "Pride and Prejudice" AGAIN! I'm not ashamed to say that I've been a die-hard Jane Austen fan since I first read her lovely "Emma". I've read almost all of her books, and saw most of the movies/tv series that has anything to do with these books. (sidenote: That's why I love "Bridget Jones Diary" so much~) I don't know what it is, maybe it's because of the subtle romance that these stories represent; modern romances just cannot compare.
I'm really concerned about this movie though. Can it live up to the beloved BBC TV series? (which I have seen more than 5 times! hahaha) And Keira Knightley?? I've never liked her... always thought of her as an ugly version of Natalie Portman. And the actor who plays Mr. Darcy. How can he fill the HUGE shoes that were left behind by Colin Firth? (CF: *swoon*)
But needless to say, I'll still be the first one in line to go see this movie when it comes out in the fall. Yipee! :)

mmmmm~
We all know that "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" is a remake of the 1971 film. (also based on on Roald Dahl's children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." ) However, this time instead of focusing on Willy Wonka, the story takes on Charlie Bucket as its main character, just like the movie title suggested.
Hopefully everyone has already seen the previous film or read the book, so there shouldn't be any spoilers here. The story is about a huge chocolate factory that's owned by the secretive Willy Wonka. Nobody has ever seen people coming in or out of the factory, so it has been a world wide mystery as to how the factory function. Suddenly one day, Wonka announced that there are five golden tickets hidden in five of the Wonka chocolate bars that are sold all over the world. If any children find these tickets, he will show these lucky winners to a tour of his factory for one day.
The look of the movie is amazing. (except the opening scene, I thought it looked really fake!) With advanced CG capabilities these days, director Tim Burton was abled to show us a world that's beyond my imagination. I especially like the bright colors of the movie; it enriches the whole story in a peculiar way.
Story telling and acting wise, that's a whole other story. I just couldn't get pass the fact that Willy Wonka looks so much like the creepy Michael Jackson, especially with these children around. His hair, his clothes, his make up, even his pale skin constantly reminds me of how disturbing it is. What the heck was Johnny Depp thinking?! Throughout the movie I was almost uncertain if Wonka was a bad guy or not. I was feared for the children's lives! :P
Not sure about the Oompa Loompas either, that little guy really freaked me out~ hehe.
And the actor who played Charlie, I don't know.... I was just not touched by his acting. There were a few times in the movie where we're supposed to feel the "awwww..." with how Charlie loves his family, and how he helps Willy re-unite with his, but I just didn't felt it. The acting was definitely a little bit off here.
However, don't let what I said discourage you. Just the special effects alone was enough for me to go see this movie. So go watch it and tell me what y'all think! :)

I know, I know... all the critics reviews were bad, but I liked it. It's no "Batman Begins" that's for sure, but it's entertaining nonetheless.
Here are the four heros: Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, who can elongate his body like rubber; Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, who can become invisible and put up a force field; Johnny Storm/Human Torch, who can shoot fire from his entire body; and Ben Grimm/The Thing, a hideous rock monster with superhuman strength. The story premise is simple, they battle the evil Doctor Doom as a team, which is called the Fantastic Four.
The movie is two hours long, but went by like a breeze. The screen was filled with action and explosion and high tech gadgets that always kept our eyes busy. The only problem is the story. Well, there's really not much of a story at all. It's more like a show and tell of the four superheros, how they became what they are, and to show off their powers. I don't feel like I'm emotionally attached to any of them, unlike how I really felt for Bruce Wayne in "Batman Begins". Like I said before, it's a blockbuster movie, it's entertaining, it's funny, the guys in there are hot, but definitely won't make it in my list of top ten movies of the year.
Oh, and it's always a treat to see Stan Lee as a cameo in a Marvel comic movie. :)
Comments on the movie trailers:
1. Corpse Bride - This trailer is different than the one I saw online. This one gives us a better idea of what the story is about. Can't wait!! Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, what else can go wrong?
2. King Kong - WOW. I don't know what else to say. Peter Jackson, enough said. Oh, I was surprised to see Jack Black in the movie though, I just want to laugh every time I see his face on screen!
3. The Transporter 2 - hehe, I can't believe they made a sequel to "The Transporter". Where's Shu Qi?
